Dorsyniq sells furnishing cloth by the metre and embroidered panels by the piece. Everything is made to our own specifications; none of it is bought in finished and relabelled.

Why we started

Good furnishing fabric has always been sold in a way that keeps ordinary buyers out. You need an account, or a designer, or a showroom appointment, and the price is quoted on request. We could not see a reason for that to continue, so we set up a company that sells the same class of cloth to anyone with a window to cover.

What we did keep from that world is the specification. Every cloth on this site lists its composition, its width, its weight and, where it matters, its Martindale rub figure and its flammability rating. If a number is not on the page, ask us and we will send it.

How the range is made

The seven by-the-metre cloths are woven to our own specifications by a mill we work with directly. We set the composition, the width, the weight and the colour; they weave, dye and finish. Two of them are rated for contract use, which means the flammability certificates exist and we will send them on request.

The nine panels are worked on frames rather than by machine, which is why no two are identical and why we say so on every product page. Stitch placement shifts a little from one panel to the next. That is the nature of the thing, not a tolerance we failed to hold.

What we will tell you

Which cloth is wrong for your job, if it is. Linen creases and we say so. Velvet shades and we say so. The Chartreuse voile is a much louder green than the photograph suggests, and we would rather you ordered a cutting than a curtain. A shop that only ever agrees with you is not much use.

Who we are

Dorsyniq is a trading name of COKIND INTERNATIONAL CO., LIMITED, a company registered in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Orders are picked and shipped from our United States warehouse. Everything else, including every email you send us, is handled by the same small group of people who chose the cloth.
