Fine broken lines of pale gold metallic thread falling from top to bottom, thin and sparse where the panel starts and gathering into a dense band by the hem. Nothing is depicted; the whole effect comes from how much thread is in a given inch of cloth.
Metallic thread against matte linen is the only contrast at work here, so the panel changes more than most with the light. Under a lamp it is warm and bright; in daylight it goes almost to the colour of the ground.
